Special cleaning needs require special solutions. That’s where Key Cleaning can help.

In the past several years ailments have begun to surface in community settings that historically had only been seen in healthcare settings. Until the causes were identified medical professionals were stymied. Finally the viruses were identified as Community Acquired-MRSA, a methacillin resistant strain of staph infection.

This virus has caused havoc with sports teams around the country as athletes, especially those in high contact sports like wrestling, football and basketball, have contracted the virus through small cuts and lesions on their skin. If not treated quickly, the bacteria can cause major health problems including death.

Normal cleaning practices and products are not effective for these superbugs. Key Cleaning Solutions is part of the Key Medical group of companies. We’ve taken our knowledge of the healthcare arena and searched for products that will help non-healthcare settings in combating these viruses and bacteria. You will find our unique cleaning and disinfection products on this website. And, we will be continually looking for new products to add to our line.

What is CA-MRSA?

October 20th, 2007 · No Comments

The technical definition is any of several bacterial strains of the genus Staphylococcus (S. aureus) that are resistant to beta-lactam antibiotics (as methicillin and nafcillin) and that are typically benign colonizers of the skin and mucous membranes (as of the nostrils) but may cause severe infections (as by entrance through a surgical wound) esp. in immunocompromised individuals.

CA is an abbreviation for Community Acquired.

MRSA is an abbreviation for methicillin-resistant Staphylococcus aureus; multi-drug-resistant Staphylococcus aureus.

It is a disease caused by staphylococcus aureus bacteria. It is often called as the “staph” bacteria. It is a contagious infection. These bacteria are found on the skin and nasal passages. They cause diseases and infection through a cut or a sore. It can be minor or serious depending on the infection. People with weak resistance power are more prone to infections caused by the staph virus.

The symptoms of a staph infection are skin abscess, puss and other fluids from the infected area, fever, rash, fatigue etc. The doctor would be able to cure or treat this infection only after discerning the severity of the infection. Draining the abscess is the most common method of treating MRSA infection. Antibiotics like vancomycin, trimethoprim-sulfamethoxazole, and linezolid are also used to treat MSRA infections.
